Witch Glossary
A - Athane The athane is usually a black handled knife which is used by a witch.
B - Broomstick Witches do not actually fight around on broomsticks, but they can use astral projection to fly anywhere they wish.
C - Cauldron. A Cauldron is a large metal pot used for cooking and for witches to brew up their potions!
D - Dreams No one knows why we dream, but witches use their dreams to solve problems.
E - ESP Extra sensory perception is a psychic skill many witches incorporate in their spell casting.
F - Freya Freya is a Norse Goddess, a love spells Goddess who rides in a chariot pulled by cats. Some witches will use the cat in a Freya love spell.
G - God Making God making is the formation of a magic charm.
H - Halloween A very powerful time for witches, it is the one day of the year when the 'Thinning of the Veils' lasts all day, instead of just at night when it is dark. When the veils are at their thinnest, the natural and supernatural worlds are at their closest.
I - I Ching Divinations using the I Ching are often done by a witch.
J - Jupiter A witch will use Jupiter's influence in her spell casting for wealth attraction, gambling success and good luck attraction.
K - Knotting Knotting is a magical method used to secure and release magical energy using a cord.
L - Love Spells Love spells are by far the most cast love spells, and they do work!
M - Mabon Mabon is one of 8 Pagan festivals, celebrated at the autumnal Equinox on or around 21st September.
N - New Moon Many witches cast spells for a new beginning when the moon is new.
O - OOBE Out of the body experience. A witch may astrally travel during a spell casting.
P - Pentacle The Pentacle, a five pointed star, inside a circle, the single point always points upwards. The five points represent the five elements of Earth (North), Air (East), Fire (South), Water (West) and Ether (spirit), and the circle represents the unbroken circle of life, death and reincarnation.
Q - Quetzalcoatl Quetzalcoatl is an omnipotent Aztec God often invoked by witches.
R - Rune A rune is a figure from an ancient magical alphabet originating from Northern Europe. Runes are used for divination and spell casting.
S - Sigil A sigil is a symbol of magical reference, and used in a similar way to a rune.
T - Tarot Witches use some form of divination while writing up their spells and checking the status of a spell.
U - Uncrossing Spell A witch will cast this spell to reverse any bad luck wished onto you.
V - Venus The influence of Venus is used in many love spells.
W - Wand The wand can be used to cast a circle, or they can be used for manifestation.
X - Xochiquetzal Xochiquetzal ia an Aztec spirit a witch might invoke while casting a beauty spell.
Y - Yule Yule is a great time for witches as they cast Mistletoe Spells
Z - Zener cards The image on a zener card either a star, square, cross, circle or wavy line is sent to another person telepathically.
